We recommend checking out all the fun roadside attractions! It makes the long drives around the area worth it! From art installations to historic Texas buildings there are many great things to stop for, enjoy the drive! We recommend feeding the beer-drinking goat mayor of Lajitas! His name is Clay Henry and he’s found at the Lajitas General Store!

Taking TX-118 S to Terlingua from Marfa is the shortest route! Although not as historic, you pass through many beautiful sites, and you get the convenience of passing through Alpine! You see lots of valleys and red rocks along this way, especially as you get closer to Terlingua!

Taking US-67 S to FM170 is one of the most popular motorcycle routes in Texas! For good reason too, as you get to drive through the border town of Presidio, which has some of our favorite gas stations! Then you continue the rest of the way alongside the Rio Grande through Big Bend State Park. With pull-offs all down the stretch between Presidio and Terlingua, there are many scenic spots making the extra drive time worth it!

We wanted to inform guests that on all routes coming back from Terlingua into Marfa there will be a border patrol drive-thru station. It is a quick process and you do not need your passport, but make sure to have your ID!
